Background of the Study
A pH indicator is a
device used to measure the acidity or basicity of a solution something that can
tell you whether a substance is an acid or a base. We often notice the colour
changes that we see in the nature all around us. Many flowers, fruits, and
vegetables contain chemical substances of different pH. These substance are
known as nature pH indicator.
According
to Odugbemi (2006),all pH indicators
change colours depending on whether they donate or accept protons. The pH
indicators are themselves acids or bases.
