ABSTRACT This research work titled effect of fiscal policy on the development of Nigeria economy. The researcher examined the effect of taxation on the net national income of Nigerian. Evaluated the relationship between public expenditure and net national income of Nigeria. Examined the impact of public debt on net nation income of Nigeria. Data for the study was sourced through CBN Annual report and journal articles related to the subjects matter. The data collected was analyzed using SPSS. The results of the study revealed that calculated t-statistics (t = -0.140) for taxation is greater than tabulated t-statistics at 0.05 level of significance. The regression equation also revealed that taxation accounted for -0.179 unit for every increase in Nigerian net national income. The coefficient of determination (R2) 0.468 indicating that 47% of variation in Nigerian net national income increase is caused by variation taxation. The overall regression model is statistically significant in terms of its overall goodness of fit (f = 7.71, p < 0.05). As a result of this the study accepts the alternative hypothesis meaning that Taxation has significant effect on the net national income of Nigeria. It was also observed that there is significant relationship between public expenditure and net national income of Nigeria. Based on the findings the researcher recommends that There should be an argent consideration of the Naira as this induces inflation.  The exchange rate of the Naira should be determined by the market forces instead of being pegged in the best interest of the general populaces. There should be streamline of activities of certain government owned agencies to avoid economic waste. In order to eliminate the level of inconsistencies, which affect our industries the policy of seven years comprehensive tariff plan should be adhered to. This study also indicated that public debt influences net nation income of Nigeria.  The researcher discovered that fiscal policy instruments has great impact on the development of Nigerian economy.
