ABSTRACT
Wheel barrow is a
simple machine which belongs to the second class lever. It is used by
labourers, farmers, gardeners, and others to transport loads and materials from
one place to another. Moreover, depending on the type to be constructed the
materials are then reduced to smaller and more convenient sizes. However, the
efficiency of the wheel barrow depends on the material used for the
construction. The shapes and form are changed by the following constructional
operations; marking out, pattern development, cutting, filling, Drilling
machinery, milling, assembling, welding and finishing. Most of these operations
are been carried out either by the use of manual or mechanized process,
depending on the size of the workshop. In conclusion, a fixed amount of load
was placed on the wheel barrow to determine the efficiency and the effort
required to lift the load. A well-constructed wheel barrow is highly efficient
and requires little effort to lift even when carrying loads.
