ABSTRACT
The research work is
titled "fiber optical cable" it has the following specific
objectives; to examine the relevance of fiber optical cable in effective
running of organisations in Nigeria, to ascertain the extent of application of
fiber optical cable in Nigeria organizations and to determine the factors
militating against the fiber optical cable in organisations in Nigeria. It was
observed that Since
OM1 and OM2 fiber could not support the higher speeds, OM3 and OM4 became the
main choice for multimode fiber to support 25G, 40G and 100G Ethernet. With
even greater demands on the horizon, OM5 was developed to extend the benefits
of multimode fiber in data centers. It was also found that Fiber
optical cable plays significant role in effective running of organisations in
Nigeria. Finally it concluded that new techniques in phase modulation and
improvements in submarine line terminal equipment (SLTE) have boosted capacity
in some places by as much as 8000%
