INTRODUCTION
Workforce
diversity is a multi-dimensional concept that will continue to evolve globally
as organizations shift towards hiring people from different cultural
backgrounds (Saxena, 2014). Its origin is complex and related to the social,
economic and political forces that have and continued to occur across the
world. Workforce diversity has however originated from an emphasis on a legal
protection of human attributes such as age, gender and ethnicity and other
attributes to a more comprehensive concept which comprises a whole range of
human differences such as physical status, religion, sexual orientation and
proficiency (Kruse and Truck, 2011; Srivalli and Rajesh, 2013).
