Abstract This study examined the effect of infrastructure in trade connectivity among the Northerners. The study specifically examined the effect of accelerated capacity building on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian, the effect of   rationale ICT action plan on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian, the effect of electricity and rural access plan on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian, the effect of water resources and water usage on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian and also how transport action plan affects trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian.  Data for the study was sourced through CBN statistical bulletin. Data collected were analyzed using multiple regression. Result of the analysis shows that there is significant effect of accelerated capacity building (ACB) on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian. This implies that ACB can significantly grow the trade connectivity of the northern states during the period of the study. That Action plan on trade connectivity has significant effect on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian. This goes to imply that AICTAP has grown significantly the size of the trade connectivity among Northern Nigerians. Electricity and rural access plan has a significant effect on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian. This implies that Electricity and rural access plan is significantly and negatively affects trade connectivity during the period of the study. There is an insignificant effect of water resources and water usages on Trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian. There is a significant effect of transport action plan on trade connectivity among the Northern Nigerian. Based on the findings, the study recommends among others that Policy should focus not only on the quality of regional hard infrastructure, such as roads and ports, but also on other factors such as soft infrastructure, to increase transparency and the efficiency of trade related services all forms. In particular, it should focus on creating innovative regulations addressing coordination feature of the value chains.
