ABSTRACT
The project, Corruption in Nigeria as a threat to Sustainable
Economic Development a study of Ministry of Agricultural Enugu
State. This project aimed at finding out if there is a correlation
between needs assessment and level of development happening with
the society, and also finding out if there is a correlation between
development and people‟s level of education. This work also aimed
at finding out the corruption rate and how it has affected
development and other ability to create job in the society. A total of
150 respondents were selected from the population figure out of
which the sample size was determined. Data was selected by the
means of structure questionnaires administered randomly to
workers in the ministry of agriculture of Enugu State. The choice of
the design was informed by the objective of the study as outlined in
chapter one. The analyses of collected data revealed that there is a
correlation between needs assessment and development level and how they are sustained. The analyses proved that there is a significant relationship existing between education or technical
knowhow of the people can also make to be aware of the level of
development and how their education know how can help to curtail
corruption and improve development level. Hence the null
hypothesis is rejected, the study conclude that corruption in Nigeria
indeed is threat to a sustainable economic development which has
also hampered or hindered growth and development in all aspect of
Nigerian society
