INTRODUCTION      Arsenic(atomic number 33) is ubiquitous and rank 20th in natural abundance, comprising about 0.00005% of the earth’s crust, 14th in the seawater, and 12th in the human body(Mandal and Suzuki, 2002). Environmental form of arsenic is in two forms namely; organic and inorganic. Organic species of arsenic are predominantly found in foodstuffs, such as shellfish, as monomethly arsenic acid, dimethyl arsenic acid , and arseno-sugars. Inorganic arsenic occurs in two oxidation states namely arsenite(As 111) and arsenate(As v) (Ashoutosh,2005).
